Description

The AREAA Policy Conference is a multi-day event in which AREAA members from across the country gather in Washington, D.C. to present issues that affect AAPI homeownership to their representatives, receive political training, and advocate for important policy points. This includes AREAA’s Annual Three-Point Policy Plan, an outline of bills that align with our goals to increase sustainable AAPI homeownership. The Policy Conference takes place in May and corresponds with National Asian American and Pacific Islander Cultural Heritage Month.
 
  • Affordable Housing: Support Funding to create affordable housing for low and middle income renters, increasing inventor
 
  • Fair Housing: Promote Programs that provide down payment assistance to first time, first generation homebuyers
 
  • Alternative Credit: Push for a more comprehensive process for credit rating that includes diverse options for consumers

The Asian Real Estate Association of America will be requiring all attendees, speakers, staff, and volunteers to provide proof of a full dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. AREAA will be working with the a 3rd party to safely collect and manage this data. In addition, everyone will be required to follow federal, state, and local rules and guidelines to attend. Please note people are considered fully vaccinated:

  • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson& Johnson's Janssen vaccine.   
  • Or other approved FDA or WHO vaccine
