What is a Dragon Boat Festival?

A Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday that has evolved into a massive international sporting phenomenon. At its heart, it is about teamwork, synchronicity, and energy.

• The Boat: Teams of 16 paddlers sit in a long, narrow vessel decorated with a decorative Chinese dragon head and tail.

• The Heartbeat: A drummer sits at the bow, beating a rhythmic cadence to ensure every paddler moves in perfect unison.

• The Goal: It’s not just about strength; it’s about "timing." Even the strongest team can be outpaced by a group that paddles as one single, fluid unit.

• Regional Showdown: Watch (or join!) teams from various AREAA chapters and Realtor boards as they go head-to-head in friendly, high-energy races.

• Lunch Included: No need to pack a meal—we’ve got you covered! Lunch will be provided for all participants to fuel up after a day of racing and networking.

1. Individual Rower (Includes Lunch)

Ready to pick up a paddle? This ticket is for individuals who want to join a team and compete.

• What’s Included: Entry into the dragon boat races with professional coaching/safety briefing.

• Lunch: Includes a full catered lunch and refreshments to keep you fueled for the competition.

• Note: No prior experience is necessary! We will pair individual rowers together to form cohesive teams.

• Space is limited and each boat can accommodate up to 16 rowers. Spots are not guaranteed.

2. Social & Networking (Lunch Only)

Prefer to keep your feet on dry land? This ticket is perfect for those who want to support their colleagues and network without getting in the boat.

• What’s Included: Access to the event grounds, spectate along the race course, and full access to the sponsor booths.

• Lunch: Includes the same full catered lunch and refreshments provided to the athletes.

• Note: This ticket does not include participation in the rowing races.
