Doug Sutherland is the 2026 President of the AREAA Charlotte Metro Chapter and a founding board member who has played a pivotal role in the chapter’s growth and impact. Now in his fifth year of service, Doug has represented the chapter nationally, including in Washington, D.C., at AREAA’s Annual Policy Summit, advocating for homeownership and industry equity.
A seasoned commercial real estate broker, Doug is the principal of Dunrobin Sutherland, an affiliate of Lake Norman Realty. He specializes in commercial sales and leasing, while also bringing a well-rounded perspective shaped by prior experience in residential real estate and a distinguished background in banking.
Doug holds an MBA in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate from the Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a CCIM Designee and is licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina, underscoring his commitment to professional excellence and market expertise.
In addition to his work in real estate, Doug serves as a board member for Carolina Business Capital, an SBA/CDC lending partner that supports small business growth. He is an active member of the Charlotte Regional REALTOR® Association, the National Association of REALTORS®, the North Carolina Association of REALTORS®, and the Canopy MLS, and has previously served on the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of REALTORS®.
A longtime resident of the Lake Norman area, Doug has called the Charlotte region home for nearly 40 years. He is deeply connected to the community and passionate about its continued growth, diversity, and opportunity.
