Who is AREAA?

Founded in 2003, the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) is a nonprofit professional trade organization dedicated to promoting sustainable homeownership opportunities in Asian American communities by creating a powerful national voice for housing and real estate professionals that serve this dynamic market.

AREAA will accomplish these goals by:

  • Creating a powerful national voice for housing and real estate professionals that serve this dynamic market
  • Advocating for policy positions at the national level that will reduce barriers to homeownership for the AAPI community
  • Increasing business opportunities for mortgage and real estate professionals that serve this growing community
  • Hosting National and Local events to educate and inform members about housing issues and developments affecting the AAPI community
  • Conducting trade missions throughout Asia to develop business partnerships and increase brand awareness

AREAA’s membership represents a vast array of cultural, ethnic, and professional backgrounds. AREAA is open to anyone and everyone who works with, or seeks to work with, the AAPI community. With over 15,000 members in 35 chapters across the US and Canada, AREAA is the largest Asian organization in North America.

President’s Message

In 2013, Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) reached its 10th year anniversary.  The San Francisco Peninsula Chapter was founded less than three years ago by Carmen Chong and has quickly grown to be very healthy and strong – setting the bar for other Chapters to follow.  Our success relies heavily on the leadership and Board of Directors as well as contributions from our members.  Through countless volunteer hours (the organization is only as good as its support), the SF Peninsula Chapter’s willingness to serve the community and to promote sustainable homeownership through educating its practioners has been invaluable.

In the past few years, AREAA SF Peninsula has worked hard to put on great networking and educational events.  Through these events many have developed lasting professional relationships that have even blossomed into friendships.  As you look around you, you will find an astonishing diversity of people and knowledge.  Together, with our members, we learn and support one another.

Our mission will be to continue to bring fruitful educational events to our members, arming them with the knowledge to promote and educate their clients about sustainable homeownership.  We will strive to provide and create great business opportunities and relationships for both our members and partners within the real estate industry.  Additionally, we will continue to form strategic partnerships with other trade organizations locally and nationally so that our voices can be heard collectively, as one when needed.  I look forward to carrying on the legacy that Carmen Chong has worked so hard to establish over the last few years.

Our membership is growing with each year that passes.  If you are not a member, I welcome you to join us to see what we are about.  What we are is Family!

With that, I leave you with this:

“If you are depressed you are living in the past.
If you are anxious you are living in the future.
If you are at peace you are living in the present.” – Lao Tzu
